Imperia Hotel and Suites Terrebonne

EN / FR

June 2022

The Imperia Hotel and Suites Terrebonne is an hotel part of the small Imperia chain that manages several establishments in the western region of the province of Quebec. Terrebonne is in the northern suburb of Montreal. The hotel is well located close to highway 640. I stayed in this place for only one night during a very short business trip in the Montreal region. There are several stores, restaurants and industries in that sector from a couple minute drive from the hotel.

The property

This hotel is built on four stories. It is a recent construction well maintained. On site there is a gym, an interior pool and a restaurant. The building is in the middle of a parking lot. Meeting and reception rooms are available on the ground floor. At the back of the building, an interior fenced court is furnished with tables and chairs.

The hall is relatively small with some sofas placed in its center.

The room

My room came with a Queen size bed, very comfortable. Nightstand are placed on each side of the bed, but no power or USB outlets are available there.

What struck me at first was the mini bar, with a lot of products. A return to the ’90! Many alcoholic beverages and various other products are placed on a small table in a corner of the room. Also, a small fridge is filled at full capacity with all kinds of beverages, alcoholic and not, which makes it unusable to place any other product that you would like to refrigerate. And I found nowhere the information regarding the price of these products. Watch out for your wallet! I have no idea of the price of the items since I didn’t use the minibar during my stay. A Nespresso machine, for original capsules, is also available with a small variety of coffees. In an opened wardrobe there is an ironing board and its iron.

The room is also equipped with a large TV, but there are no USB or HDMI connection available. A large desk is also installed in the room with a chair, unfortunately without wheels, but still comfortable. Power outlets are accessible on the desk but completely at the opposite end of the work area, far from the chair. Outlets closer to the work area of desk would have been more convenient. An armchair and a small table are placed near the window.

A carpet covers the floor. The room is clean, and the furniture is well maintained.

I used the air conditioning, and it is quiet.

The bathroom

The bathroom is clean. It has good dimensions. However, there is little storage surface around the sink. The counter and the sink are in glass in a single piece. But there is a shelf, directly under the sink, to provide additional room. Many personal hygiene products are provided. A hair dryer is also available.

The shower is in a bath. The shower head is vertically mobile and detachable as a shower phone style, and this system allows to provide a stream at an acceptable height.

Services

During my stay, there was a party in one of the hotel reception rooms, which created a lot of noise on the ground floor. The reception and meeting rooms configuration don’t allow to sufficiently isolate the hall from the noise and the traffic from the occupants of these rooms. The very friendly personnel guaranteed justly that this noise wouldn’t reach the upper floors. I didn’t hear from this party, from my room, during my stay.

There is a restaurant on site that offers breakfast, which is not included in the room price. This restaurant also offers a bar service. I didn’t visit this restaurant during my stay.

The outside parking is free.

Design

This hotel is a recent construction, and everything is well maintained. The room furniture is in excellent condition. The room colors are dark which makes it gloomy. We are in the brown color palette. The decor and the furniture style fits well and are of good taste. The whole is somewhat modern, but not very contemporary.

I have noted, in the bathroom, the interesting sink glass construction molded with the counter. This is the first time that I see this material used that way, in a hotel.

My two cents

The room is well equipped, and the products offering is abundant. It is the same with the establishment overall. The sumptuous minibar is unusual and surprising. In my opinion, all of these makes a place suited well for business trip stays, and for families, if the location pleases you. Personally, for vacations, I would prefer a location closer to Laval or to Montreal, which are available for a similar price.

The devil is in the details:

  • Very noisy and crowed on the ground floor because of a party in a reception room.

Pros

  • Well equipped (room and establishment).
  • Recent construction.

Cons

  • Price / location value.
  • No power outlets on the nightstands.
